About
I'm a software architect based in Dublin, Ireland, with 25+ years designing scalable, cloud-native systems across financial services, energy, telecoms, and sports entertainment.
I've worked at most levels of software development: quality assurance, web design, engineering, architecture, and startup CTO. For the last decade my focus has been solution and enterprise architecture: API-first and serverless design, enterprise system integration, and the technology strategy behind them: platform evaluation, non-functional requirements, architectural governance.
I'm TOGAF 9 and AWS certified, and have recently completed a postgraduate diploma in Human-Centred AI, applying explainable AI techniques to real-world problems.
I write here about architecture decisions: the trade-offs, the things that went wrong, and what I'd do differently, more than tools or syntax.
The lyric on the page header is from A Fire In The Forest by David Sylvian, an artist whose creative journey I find a source of inspiration.
